 This trip is something we have looked forward to for a long time. We will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in August. We have wanted Doug and Ellen to go to Hawaii with us for three years. We decided to stay on the Big Islaand of Hawaii for a month! We visited the Big Island for a few days several years ago, but did not spend much quality time here. We wanted to experience the east side of the island--rainforest, valconoes and all it has to offer.I spent many hours on the computer looking for the perfect places for us to stay and sites to visit. It seems to have all worked out. We have loved all of the B&B's , hotels, and cottages that we picked out. We left Louisville on Sunday, Jan 19 and arrived in Kona HI about 20 hrs later. Had a wonderful trip and was not really tired when we arrived. Stayed in Kona at the Royal Kona Resort hotel for 3 days to get our land legs.The hotel is beautiful and all you could ask for in an ocean front resort.Our car is great--just like my car at home!
