The Beginning of the Dream Trip

This vacation was really created three years ago- the idea of a holiday in the sun and surf was proposed and plans were underway- until Doug got cold feet about flying.  After all, over 25 years before, he had flown to New York and the trip was sandwiched between two air disasters that wintry visit to NYC.  "Never again," he vowed. 

But a miracle happened on Derby 2010- after a few breakfast Bloody Mary's, Doug announced that he was not going to let the fear of flying prevent him from playing a round of golf with Eddie in Hawaii!  Ellen could hardly believe it, but he meant every word.  The vacation planning began in ernest.  Plane reservations were made in May and there was no turning back! 

Deanie searched the internet until the perfect rentals were found.  Deanie and Eddie planned their longer vacation stay beginning December 19th through January 22nd.  Doug and Ellen were to join them January 4th through January 14th.  Let the vacation begin!
